Ministers are expected to announce a new round of City Deals shortly, with eight core cities expected to benefit from the devolution of further powers and funding, it has been reported. Minister for cities, Greg Clark, will unveil deals encompassing new policy areas, including control of welfare systems, minor crime, youth unemployment and local transport, The Observer newspaper reported on 1 July.
