Ensuring you get value for money and are paying a fair price while getting the right quality service you need, is absolutely essential. At Aylesbury Vale DC, understanding our expenditure and the markets that affect our services in conjunction with lean, effective management of contracts is imperative to both continuing and building an effective, efficient local authority. Our FM contract arrangements are - like those of most councils - complex, and comprise of a mixture of in-house departments, specialist contractors and large multi-service companies. But, with a number of our contracts up for renewal, we not only needed to maintain our service levels, but were tasked with finding additional savings of £75k a year over the next five years, in line with the council's overall spending review.
