Homes project sees many happy returns

Local teenager Jamie Baird (pictured) has returned to the site of the former Caerphilly Miners' Hospital, where he was born 17 years ago, as an apprentice carpenter for developer Lovell. More than 80 homes are being built there, as part of the project backed by Caerphilly Council and the Welsh Government. 'Jamie is one of a number of people born at the Miners' Hospital now working on the new housing development and we are delighted that the scheme is providing these opportunities,' said Lovell's regional director, David Gough.
