The chief executive of Oldham MBC Charlie Parker is expected to become the new top officer at Westminster City Council. A recommendation to appoint Mr Parker will go before Westminster's full council meeting for formal approval today (26 September). If approved, he will replace the current chief executive, Mike More, who is due to step down from the post at the end of the year. Cllr Philippa Roe, leader of Westminster City Council, said: 'We are absolutely delighted to have selected Charlie for the role. 'He is, without question, a rising star in the world of local government and has an unrivalled track record of delivering impressive results. 'I am confident that his talent and decisive leadership will steward us effectively through a period of continued financial challenge. 'Charlie demonstrated a keen grasp of the challenges facing Westminster and the unique role and responsibilities of an authority which sits at the heart of London.
