Cuts to tax benefit scheme will increase bailiff action

Government cuts to the localised council tax benefit scheme will result in a 25% rise in bailiff action against local debtors, a debt advisory group has predicted. The Government is cutting funding for council tax benefit by 10% as part of a transferring the scheme to local government from April.
