The leader of Brighton and Hove City Council has called on the Government to devolve more tax-raising powers to local authorities. Speaking at the Green Party's spring conference in Nottingham on 23 February, Cllr Jason Kitcat said 'true local taxation' would help protect local services from 'mad national austerity measures.
