It's the headline every parent, and possibly a few politicians too, dream of- a council that wants to divest itself of Christmas. Yes indeed, the Sunshine Coast Council in Australia wants to outsource the Festive Season, and in particular its two main festive events, Carols on Cotton Tree and Carols on Kings. The local authority is also planning to scrap its 'festive season strategy funding arrangements' in a move which will no doubt land all its members on the dreaded 'naughty list'.
