No tears as Tesco sells off mothballed sites

Dartford BC's leader has said 'few will be sorry to see an end' to Tesco's involvement with his town after 14 mothballed sites were sold in a deal worth £250m. The supermarket chain confirmed last week it had agreed the sale of the sites to a fund and clients advised by the investment management firm Meyer Bergman. Tesco abandoned a series of planned supermarkets around the country in January, as part of a series of cutbacks.
