It's a corner of London with big ambitions and is looking for a new chief executive to build on the strong foundations already in place. A new corporate strategy forms the bedrock for the Council's ambitions framed by four priorities - Fairness, Community Empowerment, Civic Pride and a Transformed Council. One of London's most diverse boroughs, Redbridge is enjoying rapid growth with an influx of investment, new housing and jobs. The regeneration of llford town centre is expected to bring in £1bn alone over the next six years, while a Housing Zone will see 2,000 homes built. But this only scratches the surface of the borough's potential. A major attraction of the role, says leader Cllr Jas Athwal, is tapping the potential in this outer London borough, which is in the north east of the capital. Finding the right person for the top job is critical to future success, he says, and whoever takes it on will be given full support to drive the local authority forward and explore new ways of working.
