Director wanted to head London boroughs' devo deals

Seven London boroughs are to take their devolution plans a step further by recruiting a director to spearhead the project. The Local London group covering the East and North East of London has formalised its partnership by electing Newham LBC mayor, Sir Robin Wales, as chair and announced they are looking to hire a director to represent them in future discussions. 'Across the seven boroughs there is agreement that a new settlement for our part of London is necessary,' said Sir Robin. 'This deal needs to reflect and respect the views of local people, giving them a real say in how their community is run.'
