Nick Raynsford has denied the Government is ignoring district councils after a survey showed they feel left out in the cold. The survey of district chief executives proved they feel left out of modernisation and there were fears they would be scrapped as the Government shifted to introduce unitary government in the next five years. A total of 80% of respondents to the survey by The MJ and consultant pps said they felt 'left out the loop by government policy', while 70% predicted there would be unitary government within the next five years.
