Liverpool slashes managers and pay to save ￡4.5m

Liverpool City Council has announced it will slash top tier pay to save more than ￡4.5m a year. Following a review of the management structure, 48 senior posts are to be axed and the number of council business units will be reduced from 74 to 27.
