It is widely accepted that adults with autism are under-represented in the labour market and that employers in the UK are missing out on a pool of untapped talent due to the lack of understanding that exists around people with the condition. NAS research puts the employment level of adults with autism at just 15% in full-time paid employment, despite 79% of those on employment-related benefits saying they want to work.
