Council's £67m investment for care

Hampshire CC is to invest up to £67m in technology in a bid to improve care and bring down costs. The council has signed a contract with the Argenti Partnership for five years, with the option to extend for a further five to develop new digital technology, apps and robotics for use by elderly people and young adults with disabilities. It has already undertaken a world-first trial of the use of Amazon's Alexa voice-activated technology to support adults with physical disabilities to continue living independently in their own homes.
