摘要

Civil servants have insisted they are working to improve information-sharing with local authorities around Brexit. Members of South East England Councils are among those to have asked the Government for more regular updates from ministers to 'help reduce uncertainty surrounding local authorities' planning for Brexit'. A briefing by the LGiU think-tank read: 'With just a few weeks left until the UK is due to leave the EU, there are still more questions than answers for chief executive officers and council leaders. 'Local government just wants to be able to properly prepare, plan and implement. That is the best way of ensuring an orderly exit and provide continuity for business and residents. To do that it needs answers from central Government sooner rather than later.'
