The 2009 legislature started out on a dead run, kept its pace, and left those of us who labor in the process desperate for the Easter break scheduled during the third week of March. It's only two or three days, but it will allow lobbyists to get their bearings and give legislators time to find their sense of humor again.rnMajor pieces of transportation and tax legislation were shoved up front in the calendar this year, leaving the policy committee chairs scrambling for time to hear bills. The first two deadlines for actions on bills passed and those bills that did not get a hearing are in some serious trouble.
