Brave Souls Find Big Fun and Success at the MPPOA Fishing Contest in Alexandria!

If I learned anything from the fishing contest this year, it was to never underestimate how much kids love fishing, and how much their parents will do for them. On Saturday morning at this years' 91st annual MPPOA convention, it was hard to distinguish Lake Darling from the North Sea. Cloudy, cold, rainy and windy was the order of the day. Yep, another day of wondering when this summer was going to get off the ground...phooey! I had little hope of anybody showing up for the fishing contest as I collected the sign-in sheet from the front lobby. I looked at the list and felt bad for names listed. Seriously, what's it take to buy a nice day? I remember betting my wife that I see her in an hour or so as I thought few would show up and those who did wouldn't stay for long. Boy was I wrong!
