James has put an interesting spin on the history of the Mini, from its inception and possible influences. The book is written in an engaging way, with the odd personal comment thrown in, which makes it quite refreshing. Intermingled with the Mini history are the author's attempts at restoring his own 1964 Cooper, which makes for great reading. A very enjoyable book and one I'd highly recommend.
