I don't know about you but I'm not a big fan of going to the dentist, and I get that same nervousness taking a Mini and my Elf to the MOT station, even though our MOT man is a friendly chap and a Mini fan too. As I mentioned last time, before I could even entertain the thought of a trip to the MOT station, I had to replace the steering rack. I opted for a brand new Mini Spares 2.2-turn lock to lock RHD rack (C-AJJ1571). The u-bolts were only about five years old but I still ordered new ones. I also ordered antifriction strips and body seal (to keep the elements out) and new track rod ends.
