MiniWorld visited an iconic Radford Mini which was reportedly driven by Peter Sellers in the 1964 film A Shot In The Dark. Well known for its wickerwork paint design, this Mini was one of three used in the film but was apparently the one driven by Peter. It was still in a fair condition but the owner had plans to restore it. In John Cooper's monthly column he told how he recently sold a Mini Cooper to Francoise Valentine, from Turkey, who was the great niece of Sir Alec Issigonis. He also recalled his early racing years: "If something was wrong with.the car you had to work it out using your brain." This contrasted with Bill Sollis' track test of Ian Curley's Mini Se7en racer: "It has no analogue instruments - a neat AstraTech dash performs the rpm, water temp and oil pressure display function, and a host of other features that represent the way forward for a thinking racing driver." Also in this issue we introduced our readers to a new project Mini: a very rusty Clubman Estate who we named Nigel.
