The 31 July, 1997, Special General Meeting was inquorate and, in accordance with the Bye-laws, was adjourned for one week until 3.00 p.m. on 7 August, 1997. For the benefit of those who had attended the meeting, however, developments in connexion with the proposed merger and written and oral comments were reported and considered during an 80-minute open discussion period. It was agreed that a summary of those discussions should be made available at the adjourned Special General Meeting and published, together with any discussion at that meeting, in this issue of MII.
