OCC Demand Falls, Sources Report

The market for Old Corrugated Containers (OCC) has weakened, due to lackluster domestic and export demand, reported RM sources. "Prices overall are softening for OCC for both export and domestic orders. Some domestic mills have dropped prices mid month out in California," said one scrap fiber broker based in California. "Chinese mills...appear to have ample inventories and feel the market will soften a bit more. They are buying less to reduce their costs," the broker added.
