Demand for paper and plastics is projected to be stable going onward. This was the consensus of speakers who addressed paper and plastic markets at WasteExpo, held in Atlanta, Georgia, late last month. Global paper and board production is projected to reach to more than 200 million tons by 2015, for both developed and developing regions, explained Bill Moore of Moore & Associates. This means that demand for scrap paper grades will continue to be steady. U.S. and Canadian recovered paper demand for paper grades including OCC and Kraft, ONP/OMG, High Grades and Mixed Paper is projected to total about 31.38 million tons in 2016.
