Sims Ltd. has acquired certain commercial and operatingassets of Alumisource Corp., an aluminum processor andprovider of furnace-ready products that is based in the Pittsburgh,Pennsylvania, area. Sims is paying an initial $22.5 millionfor the company with additional payments expectedover the next three to five years using a predetermined earnoutformula. Alumisource provides raw material inputs tothe aluminum industry in the form of custom shredded andblended aluminum scrap.
