Competition in the dairy product packaging sector is as tough as it gets. And like many other sectors it has experienced a great deal of rationalisation during the past decade, with several once-familiar names being swallowed up in take-overs and mergers. This has left just a handful of manufacturers, with giants such as Tetra Pak enjoying a global presence and an annual turnover that is greater than the GDP of some countries.
