Cheesemakers enjoy wide support

Draft plans to support British cheesemakers received enthusiastic backing from the All Party Parliamentary Group for Cheese recently.rnDairy UK will develop the initiatives with APPG members and with other partners. The group was particularly interested in discussions between industry and government agencies on issues such as nutritional profiling, nutrient density, saturated fat and salt.rnThe MPs and Peers were updated by Dairy UK on the work that was taking place in the Dairy Partnership and on the recently launched FSA saturated fat campaign. They were also briefed on the visits hosted by Dairy UK for FSA officials to meet representatives from the Nutrient Rich Foods Coalition in Chicago and cheesemakers in the west of England.
