The debate surrounding dairy and the environment is hotting up. Dairy UK invited experts from the US, Sweden and France to join with NGOs and UK industry experts to take a hard look at whether dairy is matching consumer expectations. The recent focus on the impact of food production and consumption on the environment can not have escaped anyone's attention. A quick Google search of 'dairy' and 'climate change' will confront you with a simplified version of the argument oft repeated by many NGOs, which is that: 'Planet Earth is in terribly bad shape, our consumption of meat and dairy is to blame for much of this, therefore we should all stop consuming so much'. Simple.
