Dairy UK responds to Dairy Package Consultation annoucement

Farming Minister David Heath (pictured) has announced a six-week consultation on the implementation of the Dairy Package in England. Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland will hold their own consultations. Commenting on the announcement, Dairy UK Director General, Jim Begg, said: "Everyone involved in the negotiations that resulted in the agreement of the voluntary code of practice recognises that the principles set out in the code provide a strong basis for the future evolution of industry contractual relationships, avoiding the need for regulation.
