This big book of 960 pages with 40 notations and 34 chapters, is not a quick read. My interest in getting it was that I read about all the books written about MacArthur. I served in the Pacific from New Guinea in Nov. 1943, up the northeast coast to Sarmi, across from Wadke Airbase May 1944, to the Philippines in October, then Leyte, Mindoro, Zam-baga to Manila, Philippines, where I was when the war ended, serving as a 1st Lieutenant at Mac's head-auarters that dav in August 1945.
