Operation Enduring Freedom started well before Iraqi Freedom, seemed to have some initial success and being the only show in town, received a fair amount of coverage in the news media. This diminished with the invasion to overthrow Saddam, except for the occasional casualty figures.rnHowever, with the surge dictated by our new CinC, renewed attention is being given to what is going on in Afghanistan. During all this time the military service journals have discussed matters of professional interest to their limited audiences. Within this, a few have learned what the Leathernecks have been doing there.
