Developing Critical SATCOM Capability to Enable Operations

Senior service officials from across USSOCOM herald a "revolutionary change" in the area of satellite communications (SATCOM). The Pentagon describes how the current operating environment comprises a more contested arena, making it all the more important for the command to identify and deliver a next-generation of capabilities. Referring to "assured communications" as a Special Operations 'Hard Problem,' leaders describe emerging requirements for connectivity across contested environments as well as austere and remote operating locations.
