Germany's security environment has changed fundamentally over the past two decades. Against this background, participation in conflict prevention and crisis management missions will determine theBundeswehr's future structure and equipment. By focusing on their core tasks, servicemen and women of the Bundeswehr will be relieved of non-military duties and (consequently) funds will be freed up for new and necessary investments.
