摘要

Last month, Amnesty International released a report claiming the US may be guilty of war crimes for its drone programme, and urging the UK not to share any intelligence that could help facilitate strikes. Human Rights Watch also released a report accusing the US of violating international law. Pakistan and even China recently spoke out against the strike that killed notorious al Qaeda leader Hakimullah Mehsud in October 2013. It seems everywhere one turns, drones are in the news. In the past four years they have become the Barack Obama administration's weapon of choice, with the President overseeing approximately 400 strikes. By comparison, George W. Bush signed off on around 50. The backlash has been considerable.
