The Armed Forces of the Czech Republic (ACR) constitutes one of the fundamental pillars of the Czech national security system, whose mission is to advance the Czech security policy. The ACR role and mission in the system is to ensure defence of the Czech Republic against external aggression. That encompasses a complex of activities associated with defence of national territory, airspace and critical defence infrastructure. The Czech security policy is based on the principle of indivisibility of security; the Czech Republic's security is conditioned on security in the Euro-Atlantic region. That is why security interests must be often advanced far beyond the Czech Republic's and NATO's borders.
