Burgeoning awareness of cyber threats to computer dependent and interconnected power, water, gas supplies and telecom systems plus high-profile physical attacks are making governments and industry increasingly keen to make them more resilient. Following the US withdrawal from Iraq and NATO's imminent pull-out from Afghanistan, the defence industry increasingly regards security and resilience in general and Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) in particular as key to future growth. Market research organisations expect the worldwide CIP market to grow from U$63.76 billion in 2013 to $105.5 billion by 2018.
