News of some recent training projects, in alphabetical order of company name: Barco has introduced the TD Series of dome display systems, which are lightweight and designed for ease of transport and set-up. Bohemia Interactive Simulations (BISim) has sold additional licences for its Virtual Battlespace 3 (VBS3) system to the Bundeswehr. The German military has used Bohemia's VBS systems for over 5 years for Forward Air Control (FAC), Joint Forces training, simulation of Army UAVs, artillery, infantry squad and platoon training. Training takes place mainly at Wildflecken, the German Army Battle Simulation Center. Cranfield University has an MoU with Nextel Aerospace Defence & Security (NADS) to apply open architecture in simulation and training. Cranfield's Modelling and Simulation (M&S) Group will use NADS' Simware platform in its Simulation and Synthetic Environment Laboratory (SSEL). Cranfield University also provides M&S services to the Defence Academy of the UK at Shriveham.
