How to Do Business in India

Business has found a new home in India where the economy continues to grow exponentially. However, navigating through a series of endless paperwork, delays and bureaucracy is part of the challenge of doing business in India. India has enjoyed a vibrant and growing economy for the past decade. According to the 'Ease of Doing Business 2015' report, India ranked 140 among a list 189 nations. The report identified everything from massive energy shortages (India ranks 137 among 189 economies on the ease of getting electricity), overwhelming paper work, land acquisition problems, to evasive tax and labour rules as a result of India's poor ranking in what should otherwise be an attractive market. According to the World Bank, starting a business in India requires 11.9 procedures, takes 28.4 days, costs 12.2% of income per capita and requires paid-in minimum capital of 111.2% of the income per capita.
