On 7 April 2017, Israel secured its largest ever defence and security contract with a U$2 billion deal secured with the Indian government, signalling how its industrial base continues to go from strength to strength in line with emerging requirements from an increasingly complex operating environment. The deal, which will enable Israeli companies to supply a raft of technology and solutions to the Indian MoD including air defence systems to both army and navy, was agreed by Israel's President, Reuven Rivlin and Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, following a meeting in New Delhi.
