Immediately after the war, the Specialized Administrative Sections have been the heart of the policy of integration of Algeria with France. Today NATO, through the PRTs, proposes for Afghanistan a similar formula, which should enable this tortured land to start its socio-economic recovery. In view of this, the participation of the Italian Army, compared to other peacekeeping missions, is a completely new model of intervention.%Nell'immediato dopoguerra le Sezioni Amministrative Specializzate hanno rappresentato il cuore della politica francese di integrazione dell'Algeria. Oggi, in Afghanistan, la NATO ripropone con i P.R.T. un'analoga formula, che dovrebbe consentire la ripresa socio-economica di questa martoriata terra. In tale contesto, la partecipazione dell'Esercito Italiano rappresenta un modello d'intervento completamente nuovo rispetto a quanto precedentemente attuato nelle altre missioni di peace-keeping.
