This section includes summaries of a number of proposed, developmental, or out-of-production fighter or attack aircraft programs. Fairchild A-10 Thunderbolt Ⅱ. The A-10 is a twin-turbofan-engine close air support (CAS) aircraft. A total of 713 A-10As were produced for the U.S. Air Force, with the final example delivered in February 1984. A portion of the USAF A-10A fleet was subsequently converted to the OA-10 configuration for use in forward air control.
