Artificial intelligence and machine vision experts at the U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) in Arlington, Va., are asking industry to develop machine visual intelligence, which would enable machines to recognize not only objects, but also actions and how actions influence objects.rnDARPA released a broad agency announcement (DARPA-BAA-10-53) for the Mind's Eye program to develop in machines a capability that currently exists only in animals: visual intelligence.
