El segundo, ca—According to a report by Kevin Wang of iSuppli Corp., China is betting big on the service sector and on high-end consumer-electronics goods—so big that these areas have been identified as areas of economic growth over the next five years by the government's 11th Five-Year Plan. iSuppli Corp. predicts that mobile-communications services and phones will contribute greatly to China's economic growth in the coming years, with the government's investment and support. After 3G licenses are issued by the government to carriers in 2006, China will emerge as a huge market for 3G mobile-infrastructure-gear makers, mobile-phone makers, and semiconductor suppliers, iSuppli believes.
