DARPA Names Raytheon For Networking

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) has awarded Raytheon BBNTechnologies $16 million in additional funding under phase two of the Military Networking Protocol (MNP) program.The funding is to create architectures, protocols, and network devices for improved military networking capabilities. In the previous phase, BBN-a subsidiary of Raytheon Co.-developed and demonstrated the technology in a test environment using 200 network devices at a data transmission speed of 100 Mb/s.The goal is to scale to 10,000 devices at 100 times the speed.
