Broadband circularly polarised stacked patch antenna with integrated dual-feeding network

This study describes a new low-profile broadband circularly polarised (CP) antenna. The antenna comprises a directly fed CP patch of new configuration that excites four square parasitic patches in an upper layer and an L-shaped parasite alongside the excited patch. This arrangement provides an improvement in axial ratio (AR) bandwidth over existing configurations, having an impedance bandwidth of 38% (return loss > 10 dB), with an AR bandwidth of 28.1% (AR <; 3 dB) and a peak gain of 8.4 dBic.
