This authoritative resource introduces the network technologies adopted by mobile WiMAX for the implementation of IP-based broadband mobile wireless access and the WiFi technologies that have steadily evolved for the past ten years, establishing a firm foundation for IP-based wireless local network access. These access and local technologies have many things in common, most prominently that both are oriented toward IP traffic and standardized by IEEE 802 working groups.
