A Mobile handset is not just a phone anymore, it's an MP3 player, it's a fashion statement, it's a GPS device, it's a calorie counter, it's a camera, it's a data modem, it's a TV, it's an email client and the list goes on and on. Cellular providers have increased the services bundled with the 3G phones in order to increase the average revenue per subscriber (ARPU). At the same time there is an expectation to increase the talk time and battery life with the same or slightly higher capacity batteries. This makes the system design challenging.
