Centumgemina, n. gen., a new coccolithophorid taxon from Geulhemmerberg airshaft section, Lower Paleocene, The Netherlands

In 2001 Mai described two new coccolithophorid taxa, Prinsius scissuratus and Prinsius simplex found in a coccosphere-rich horizon of the Geulhemmerberg Lower Paleocene airshaft section, The Netherlands. At this time the two new species were provisionally assigned to the genus Prinsius. However, the structure of their placoliths does not fit the description of Prinsius, neither in the narrow concept of Hay and Mohler nor in the broader concept used subsequently. As no other genus accommodates the description of these two species, we introduce a new genus for them.
