摘要

The gold market experienced a roller-coaster ride last week, rallying all the way to the mountain top before taking a precipitous plunge along with other precious metals that were adversely affected by a major fund liquidation. Based on trading on the COMEX, gold reached an historic plateau with a settlement price of $1,001.40/oz on March 17, then topped that the following day, rising to $1,003.20/oz. But the euphoric high ended that night during Asian trading hours, with a ripple effect that circled the globe - hitting Europe first, then the US.
