摘要

A major breakthrough in the design and efficiency of gas-fired crucible furnaces has clearly demonstrated outstanding cost-saving at Glynwed Foundries, Telford, UK, after only 12 months of on-site operation with a prototype model. Developed jointly by Morganite Thermal Ceramics Ltd and British Gas, the new Morgan Regenerative tilting crucible furnace is believed to be the only such system to use successfully the principle of high temperature (up to 1400℃) regenerative heat recovery. Some 90% of waste heat exhaust energy is recycled within the furnace to give exceptionally high thermal efficiency and much reduced operating costs.
