Choices, Die Bushings and Guide Bushings

Commercially available die bushings are relatively inexpensive and come in various configurations. The most common has a straight outside diameter with approximately 1/8 in. land and a ground-tapered relief. The relief must be ground in order to achieve concentricity of the internal surfaces. There are die bushings available with an unground tapered relief, but those have a counterbore so that concentricity is not all that critical. This type is a little lower in cost than the ground relief.
